The Cats Whiskers boarding cattery has been carefully built and designed for your cats happiness and comfort. No expense has been spared to provide a calm,warm stress free environment to ensure your cat is as happy as he/she can be away from their familiar surroundings. Quite simply - Cats Lives Matter.

Temperature controlled
All of the guest rooms are full sized and are fitted with underfloor heating to maintain a pleasant temperature. An air conditioning unit keeps cats safe and comfortable on hot summer days.
Views
All of the classic rooms have their own UPVC double glazed window overlooking their own individual private covered catio. Family rooms have a dual aspect view. All of the rooms have views of the tranquil countryside and bird feeders from the warmth and comfort of their room.
Access to outdoors
All of the guest rooms have access to their own private covered outdoor catio complete with ramps, shelves and an extra tall scratch post to allow them to burn energy or just relax in the fresh air and sunshine. As well as having indoor litter trays and access to water, each catio also has a covered litter tray and water bowls thus giving guests choice as to which they prefer to use.
Indoor and Outdoor CCTV
Each guest room has its own individual camera which allows monitoring of timid and shy guests as they settle in... peace of mind for me, unobtrusive for them.
On-site kitchen
A food preparation and kitchen area situated directly across from all of the rooms ensures that the cats can see Carol at all times, giving them companionship and reassurance while she prepares their food etc and goes about her daily familiar routine.
Interaction
Carol is a passionate cat lover and enjoys spending lots of time with each guest to ensure they are happy and stimulated. She understands cats and tends to their individual requirements. Every indoor room and also each outdoor private catio all have chairs in them where Carol can interact, stroke, brush, play or just sit quietly in.
The cattery is South Westerly facing, ensuring a bright and sunny position for our feline guests, even on winter days.
We are in a tranquil location, surrounded by countryside and forestry and we have various wildlife visitors for your cats to watch while they play in their private covered outdoor catios or relax inside looking through their personal windows.
The cattery is a bespoke, Gold standard composite building from Shanette Sheds, with double glazing, fully insulated walls and roof and 100mm of floor insulation overlaid with underfloor heating. We also have a large, built in air conditioning unit, so if it is winter or summer you can rest assured your cat will be at a comfortable temperature.
There are large outdoor private covered catios for each room for excercise, enrichment or relaxation.
There are double doors fitted with codelocks on the entrance and a secure safety corridor to ensure even the most agile cat can't escape.
This all means that no matter the time of year you can relax in the knowledge that your pet is safe and secure.
Facilities
Spacious cat friendly rooms
Each room is spacious with multi level platforms, gently sloping ramps and low level cat flaps to the outdoor runs, suitable for cats at all life stages. Each room has a privacy corner/refuge to allow timid cats to settle in. We have a selection of extra large litter boxes placed in secluded positions to ensure they don't feel vulnerable on the toilet. A selection of bed types including pods or open beds to allow a cat to choose their preference.
Outdoors
Each cat room has access to a large outdoor private covered catio, complete with artificial grass and multi level platforms for the guests to watch the thoughtfully placed bird feeders and our goats also provide hours of cat entertainment. As well as large indoor litter trays and water bowls there is also a covered litter tray and water bowl in their catio too. Scratch posts and toys are carefully placed to allow maximum stimulation and Carol spends time with all of the guests to make sure they are happy and content so you don't need to worry about your feline friends.
Care and Attention.
The cattery is only metres away from our home and due to the careful design of the cattery there is an on-site kitchen area across from the rooms for food preparation etc and because it is a warm and welcoming space Carol can spend long periods of time enjoying the company of her furry guests. A WiFi connection enables gentle cat lullabies to soothe new guests and play nature videos to entertain the more inquisitive ones.
Reviews
Your cat's safety should be paramount, are there double doors and a safety corridor to prevent escape and is the building secure?
Is the owner a passionate and knowledgeable cat lover, running the cattery as a full time job or is it just a sideline to provide extra income in addition to their occupation?
Is it a cats only establishment, or are barking dogs present which can unsettle and frighten many cats, especially in new surroundings.
Is there any provision for extremes in temperature? There can be unexpected days of intense heat in summer which can be dangerous to a cats welfare. Equally, if you wish to enjoy a winter break, you don't want to spend your holiday worrying that your pet is feeling cold.
Do cats from other households mix together? Cats are mostly solitary creatures and mixing with strange cats can cause anxiety and also spreads disease and infection.
Are the cat rooms spacious with natural light? Cats need to move freely and be exposed to natural light. Cats also love looking out of a window.
Is there access to outdoors? Cats appreciate being able to go in and out as they please and experience fresh air and natural scents, sights and sounds, this greatly improves stimulation.
You should always visit a cattery before commiting to booking, you need to be sure your cat will be safe and well cared for.

Attention to detail, with cats at the core of every decision along the way. This has been painstakingly researched and designed to exacting standards.
This cattery is secure and safe, with all rooms being isolated from each other, so only cats from one household share a room. The rooms are divided into indoor and outdoor zones and are larger than any we are aware of, the standard suites are 6.75m2 (73 Sq feet) and the family suites are 12m2 (130 Sq feet).
All rooms are fitted with blackout blinds that can be used to reduce solar gain on very hot days, and if the temperature in the cattery climbs above 23 degrees the air conditioning will cool the building ensuring your cats wellbeing. Equally, your cat will be warm in winter with a modern underfloor heating system.
The building is light, bright and hygienic with hot and cold water, food preparation facilities and on-site cat stimulation and interaction for all guests, Cat pod beds, open beds, and multi level platforms provide the perfect sleep for even the most discerning cats.
Above all, cats and running a cattery that your cat would choose is Carol's passion because she truly believes "Cats lives matter". If you love your cat, you will only want the best for them.
NOTE: If your cat hasn't been vaccinated before then it will take 3 weeks between the 1st & 2nd vaccines plus 2 weeks to be covered. Booster: cat covered after 7 days.
Drop Off and Collection Times
- Opening hours are Mon-Sat 11am-1pm and 2pm-6pm.
- Drop off and collection are between these hours only by an arranged appointment time.
- Sunday is 12 noon -2pm, between these hours at an arranged appointment time with an extra surcharge of €25.
PRICES FOR 2026
- 1 cat – €19 per day in a classic room.
- 2 cats sharing – €28 per day in a classic room.
- 3 cats sharing – €35 per day in a family room.
- 4 cats sharing – €40 per day in a family room.
Christmas, New Year, Easter, June, July/August are subject to a minimum charge of five days.
Note. If your cats are sharing a room, please ensure they get along, otherwise we suggest separate rooms (we cannot be responsible for vet bills if your cats fight)
Pre-booking viewings are by prior appointment only to avoid disruptions to the daily running of my cattery. Please ring to arrange a day/time to suit.

- All cats MUST arrive in a secure cat carrier.
- All Cats MUST be fully litter trained.
- All cats must be fully vaccinated against Feline Infectious Enteritis and Cat Flu. An up-to-date vaccination card must be shown on arrival. We also ask all owners to give their cats worm and flea treatment prior to boarding.
- Male cats over 5 months old MUST be neutered.
- A 50% deposit is required upon booking.
- Cancellations within 3 weeks of the stay commencing will result in you losing the full deposit. Other cancellations will incur a 20% off the deposit amount to cover my admin fees.
- While every precaution and care is taken during boarding, responsibility can only be accepted at the owners risk.
- These terms and conditions will be considered as agreed at each booking.
NOTE: If your cat requires medication please mention this before booking. I'm happy to administer oral meds ONLY as long they can be mixed with food and your cat is used to taking them this way.
